Thank you for visiting The House of Phalo!

The House of Phalo, is a spiritual project came to me in a dream. My parents believe that I had iphupha a dream – My grandfarther who I have never met said “khumbula indlu ka phalo” remember The House of Phalo. The Xhosa culture is rich in history and has some of the most influential people that walked and some are still walking the earth. We all believe in our clans and they identify us and our family. Our clans are unique and this brand The House of Phalo allows us to wear our beautiful and unique clan names with pride.

When I wear my clan name, Xhosa people who see me burst with pride not that it’s their clan but that in today’s times with our kids not embracing their clan or culture it’s refreshing to see someone wearing their pride, their family name, The House of Phalo.

If you don’t know now you know…

Phalo ka Tshiwo was a paramount chief of the Xhosa nation from 1736 until his death in 1775. Phalo was the second son of Tshiwo but his older brother Gwali was from a junior wife and Phalo was in line for the throne. Tshiwo died the same year of Phalo’s birth so his uncle Mdange took over the reins as regent. (Wikipedia)

Wear The House of Phalo Clothing with pride!!!
